What is your career/job? I am an Occupational Therapist with a focus in Pediatrics. Every day, I am fortunate to work with kids who have a variety of diagnoses (Down Syndrome, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Developmental Delay) increase their ability to achieve life skills.
Outside of Crossfit, what do you enjoy doing in your spare time? In my spare time, you can find me spending time with family/friends, trying out local eateries or cheering on the D-backs.
What is your favorite healthy food & “not so healthy” food? Nothing beats fresh fruit and veggies. I am a fan of many of them. The “not so healthy” food that I love to indulge in are cupcakes. My self-control diminishes when I see those yummy little treats!
What is something that we don’t know about you? (Interesting fact, accomplishment you are proud of, obscure/unique talent, funny story, etc.) The back of my shoulders are really flexible that they allow me to do this:
What motivates you to push yourself physically? First and importantly, is living a healthy lifestyle. Secondly, is the philosophy of never getting too comfortable. If I become too comfortable in the gym or at work, I know I am not challenging myself and missing opportunities to better my life. Pushing myself physically and mentally in the constantly varied workouts helps me ensure I never get too comfortable.
What do you consider to be your biggest Crossfit accomplishment? Comparing myself to where I am now to a year ago when I first started gives me a great sense of accomplishment.
What is a Crossfit goal that you have? I have many, but currently I have been trying to master a handstand so I can do handstand walks.
